How To Use Attachments

Overview:

Imbedded photos are not allowed within the TRVN forum in order to present a clean look and pages that load quickly, especially for our members with limited bandwidth. However, attachments are allowed. The most common files that are attached are photo images in the JPG, GIF, or PNG formats. The forum software allows files up to 1024 x 1024 pixels in maximum size and 640Kb in size. The problem is that any digital image that you have taken with a camera that now resides on your computer is undoubtedly too large. Therefore they need to be resized in order to fit into the allotted space. Now, if you are familiar with using Photoshop or some other image editing program that's not a problem. You just resize and/or crop the image to fit the allotted space and then upload it to your forum post as an attachment.

However, not all of us have the ability to resize images. Each attachment needs to be no more than 1,024 pixels wide and 1,024 pixels high. To do this we are including a utility that will take any digital image that is on your computer, upload it to our server, resize it to a 1,024 pixel wide image, and allow you to save it to your computer so that you can upload it as an attachment. Any digital image in the JPG, GIF, or PNG formats can be processed using this utility. The end result will be a JPG file capable as being used as an attachment. Your original file will remain unchanged. We hope that our members will find this a helpful utility to allow them to upload attachments with ease.
